Endlich ist es auch in den Schweizer Bergen so warm, dass die Bienen mit ihrer Nahrungsuche in der freien Natur anfangen können. Unser Imker Gion Grischott berichtet, dass seine rund 50 Völker im bündnerischen Dorf Pignia schon seit dem 23. Februar fleissig am Sammeln sind... wir freuen uns auf ein gutes Jahr für seine Bienen und natürlich auch auf den herrlichen Alpenfrühlingshonig, den Gion jeweils im Mai erntet und danach sorgfältig und lange cremig rührt, bis wir den neuen Jahrgang dann im Juni bei uns anbieten können (das Wissen, wie und wie lange der Honig gerührt werden muss, ist eines der Geheimnisse für gute Qualität - aber es gibt natürlich noch sehr viel mehr...).

It's finally warm enough in the Swiss mountains, too, for the bees to start collecting their nutrition in the open nature. Our beekeeper Gion Grischott from Pignia, Grisons, told us that his 50 bee colonies went off to harvest fresh pollen on February 23, 2017. We are looking forward to a great year for the bees and of course for a great Alpine Spring Honey harvest, too... this is the first honey of the year, and after harvesting in May, Gion stirs it carefully and for a long period before handing the honey over to us for sale in June (the know-how-to-stir makes up for one of the differences in quality, but there are many more...)
