This honey from the dandelion meadows close to the village of Pignia, Canton Grisons, has been stirred "just to the point of perfection" as beekeeper Gion Grischott says. Now it's creamy and remains like this for years - ready for all honey gourmets. This honey has a soft texture with a bright and intense yellow color. The bees made it mostly from dandelion nectar. An Alpine rose honey as pure as it can get. A few days after the harvest, it's liquid with a  light yellow color, absolutely clear. Once it is cristallized, as all natural honeys do over time, it has a bright white color like I've never seen with any other honey. The taste is true alpine roses, like a greating from the heights of Alp Niemet where the bees collected their nectar at an altitude of 2000m asl. Organic and demeter. BioGourmet award! While his Spring honey from Pignia is dominated by dandelion blossoms, this Summer honey from the surroundings of the alpine village Andeer expresses a wonderful assembly of all Summer flowers and raspberry nectar. Beekeeper Stefan Manser lives at the very end of a valley in Glarus surrounded by impressive and high mountains. The Swiss Canton Glarus has strict regulations to protect the native black bees, apis mellifera mellifera, since the 1970's. Stefan's Spring honey has a broad, rich and intense taste,. This honey stems from bees living in the unique Alpine landscape of Grindelwald, and the beautiful traditional Swiss bee house made by beekeeper Peter von Gunten is located amidst a remote meadow with wild flowers and nearby forests. The honey of Claudio Gianotti has been awarded the gold medal at the OLMA St. Gallen expo for it's unique quality and taste. Claudio is a beekeeper since decades and surely knows the best places at his home village Promontogno in Bergell to produce a wonderfull, very rich blossom honey with hints of lime and a great subtle balance of fresh citric, chestnut and sweet tastes. The small mountain village Euseigne is the home of passionate and experienced beekeeper Patrick Bourdin. When we visited him the first time, Patrick took us to all of his three different bee locations (1000m, 1500m and 2000m altitude), and we were truly amazed by the beauty of these locations amidst unspoiled nature and also of the quality of the different honey varieties. What differentiates Patrick's honeys from other Swiss honeys are the strong and healthy herbal contents and the intensity of taste (a result from dry climate, pure unspoiled nature and beekeeping skills).

A broad range of wild flower blossoms with hints of silver fir honeydew makes this honey a unique treat. Due to the dry climate the honey harvest is especially low in the alpine regions of Valais, and we are very happy that we can offer you this rarity. The honey stems from beekeeper Patrick Bourdin and his bees living at an altitude of 1500m asl in the remote Val Des Dix region.

Taste: Intense, strong, concentrated. Multiple alpine flowers and honeydew. Healthy herbs and fruits.

There are only 6 beehives amidst the pure alpine nature of this remote Val des Dix location. At the extreme height of 2000m, overlooking the valley and with a view into the huge 4000m mountains of Valais, the bees of Patrick Bourdin enjoy a unique environment to produce their amazing alpine rose and multiple wildflower honey. This honeydew honey of Beat Schärli stems from a nature preserve. It is collected from an Entlebuch silver fir forest - but not every year, as it takes special climate conditions to allow a sufficient honeydew source for the bees to produce this dark brown, rich and intense forest honey. This powerful and delicious chestnut honey stems from the forest of the small viallge of Orselina, high above the wonderful lake Lago Maggiore. A true feast for people who love the unique chestnut taste...

Beekeeper David Conradin inherited the love for bees from his father who started keeping bees in the 1950s. Now father and son work together to produce this  wonderful black bee honey within the Val Müstair UNESCO Biosphere reservation, Canton Grisons, and the Swiss National Park. This organic, rich and flavorsome alpine summer honey is harvested from beehives at about 1000 m a.s.l. After the harvest, Mareika Schäfer carefully takes her time to stir the honey during a couple of weeks - right to the point where it remains creamy for a very long time. The current 2020 harvest has a slight additional chestnut "touch" which makes this honey even more interesting. Organic BioSuisse, Canton Ticino.

Val Poschiavo is a remote and very green, natural valley in the South of Switzerland. There are mighty mountains like the Piz Palü with an altitude of 3900 m, and also villages like Campocologno at a low altitude of 550 m (i.e. low for Switzerland...). The valley stretches from the Berninapass to the Italian border and has three different climate zones - a true discovery for everyone interested in nature and culture! Beekeeper Diego Lardelli produces a powerful summer blossom honey, with influence of buckwheat blossoms (as shown in the images), and flavors that include alpine roses from higher altitudes.
