Note: All of these natural honeys are of limited availability and thus it might happen that some of them are sold out before the next harvest arrives. New honeys start to come in from July to September each year depending on the harvest time and the weather conditions in the different regions. We are sorry for this situation but we do hope that our customers understand the circumstances and the limitations given by truly natural and small scale productions.
Please find the detailed description of all these items in our webshop below.
This honey from Pierre Froidevaux at the small village of Le Noirmont offers a broad range of multifloral flavors, from dandelion to blackberry blossoms, including many many others. The remote and unspoiled landscape of the Doubs Nature Park in the upper Jura is the nectar source for the bees who live at about 1000 m a.s.l. Intense yellow color, rich taste and sweetness.
The remote and unspoiled landscape of the Doubs Nature Park in the upper Jura is an invitation for long hikes. Flowery meadows spread among dark fir and spruce forests, and the river Doubs runs through this quiet and peaceful setting. We have chosen this honey for its unique floral tastes which are as pure and straight as the people and the countryside of the Jura.
The village of Orselina is situated above Locarno and offers a wonderful view over the Lago Maggiore in the Canton Ticino. An intense, strong and dark honey with a well balanced palate and a hint of the typical bitter Chestnut taste. Fits perfectly with cheese and deserts.
Valendas is a small village in the Safiental, a region within the greater Surselva area. The bees that produce this honey live at an altitude of 1250m asl and enjoy a wealth of wild blossoms, including thyme and alpine roses, as well as honeydew from nearby forests. A dark honey which a fascinating balance of multiflower tastes from alpine meadows and forest honeydew, intense and strong.
We discovered this hidden treasure on a hike to Tschlin, a breathtakingly beautiful place at about 1500 m altitude (don't miss it if you are near, Tschlin has been awarded the most beautiful Swiss village...). The taste is simply overwhelming, rich and pure at the same time - golden alpine summer and untouched flowering meadows caught in a glass. Bun Tschlin, as the locals say!
This honey is harvested in a remote Alpine region close to the Maloya pass where lots of Alpine Roses blossom. Their pure sweet taste fits perfectly with the broad range of multifloral aromas from wild Alpine meadows and helps to create a very smooth yet rich Alpine honey.
The rural areas of Emmental and Entlebuch are the two major places in Switzerland where vast quantities of silver fir trees can be found. However, this special forest honey is only available when climate conditions allow for a high honeydew production - about once in three to four years. This is an intense and full-bodied honey.
The upper Simmental is a beautiful landscape stretching out between the villages of Zweisimmen and Lenk. Within this valley, in a place called Matten close to Lenk, live the bees that produce this overwhelmingly rich multifloral Alpine honey. Starting from an altitude of 1000m asl, the nectar is collected both in the valley and on the mountain slopes up to 2500m asl. Wild Thyme and hundreds of other naturally growing flowers generate a unique palate. This honey has been creamed for a smooth, nice handling over a very long period.
